Attention Moose and Deer Hunters

Hunt Moose and Deer with a private established camp. The camp is located northeast of Huntsville about 10 km. from Algonquin Park boundary in WMU 50. This is a good area for moose, deer, grouse and bear. In the past 24 seasons we harvested 79 moose which averages over 3 per year. The camp owns 1000 acres which blocks off road access to about another 2000 acres of crown land providing a large hunting territory. This avoids the frustration of other hunters walking into your hunt. Tree stands and ground stands have been set up near moose travel routs which have been identified after many successful seasons. Most of the hunters are placed in stands [a different one each day for variety] while a few doggers walk th bush to push moose to the hunters in stands.

The camp has a 4 wheel drive pick-up truck and an 8 wheel Argo to transport hunters and haul moose out of the bush.

Accommodations are spacious, warm, dry and comfortable in a large lodge. Meals are prepared by cooks who provide a hot breakfast and exellent suppers. Hunters pack a lunch with food set out in the morning. There is lots of space including kitchen, card room, sitting room, indoor washroom, gun room, bar, showers and 8 bedrooms with 4 single beds per room. The camp has propane and electric lighting with running water. All you need to bring is your sleeping bag, hunting gear and personal items. Getting to the camp is by paved road except the last 9 km. which is gravel. Access by car is no problem.

The moose season is 6 days starting the first Monday after Thanksgiving. We aim for about 24 hunters per moose hunt to ensure adequate adult tags optained in the draw. We target for 3 adult tags per year with game dvided equally among all participating hunters. The deer gun season is the first 2 weeks in November.

Not all of the owner members of the lodge hunt so each year we have a limited number of openings for guest hunters. Some of theese guests have joined the club over the years as some of our aging members put their share up for sale.
